Andrea Broomfield, Ph.D., is Professor of English at Johnson County Community College, Overland Park, Kansas USA. She is author of Kansas City: A Food Biography (2016), Food and Cooking in Victorian England: A History (2006), and co-editor with Sally Mitchell of Prose by Victorian Women: An Anthology. Andrea specializes in food history and has currently completed 16 college credit hours, working towards a degree in the culinary arts. She team-teaches Cuisines of the UK in Johnson County Community College's Hospitality Culinary Academy with Chef Aaron Prater, as well as courses in composition, food writing, and a learning community that combines United States history with composition and research. She is author of numerous articles and book chapters concerning food and culture as well as the Victorian era more generally.
